Funny Name
I have heard a lot about surfing at Salsa Brava, to brush up on my Spanish. I looked up, what that means in the dictionary, I found angry sauce! Even though the name does it seem to make a lot of sense, people seem to love it. So, can you please tell me where is it located, what is so special about it and how difficult is the surf?
Salsa Brava is located near Puerto Viejo, on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, about 4 hours from the San Jose airport. This place is so special because is one of the best surfing spots in Costa Rica where only experienced surfers can successfully ride a few waves without hitting the rocky ocean bottom. This surfing beach is not recommended for amateur surfers because the bottom of the ocean is covered with VERY sharp coral reef which can cause major wounds very easily.
