Best Breaks
Some people I know just got back from a trip to Costa Rica, they didn't know where to go, and they weren't very lucky. They said it next time they would ask where the surf was good before going down. I'm traveling to Costa Rica in May and again in September. Can you tell me where I will find the best surfing conditions during these two months?
It all depends on your surfing skills, if you’re an amateur surfer you can go to Jaco and maybe Tamarindo because the surf there is pretty consistent but the waves are not huge. If you’re an experienced surfer then I’d recommend you Playa Hermosa (right next to Jaco), Santa Teresa in Mal Pais, and Playa Grande and Avellanas near Tamarindo. If you’re looking for an extreme surf adventure then make sure you don’t miss Salsa Brava in Puerto Viejo, or Witch’s Rock and Ollie’s Point up north, near Papagayo.
