Sometimes it's hard for a girl to fit in with groups of surfer dudes, especially in a foreign country. I will be staying in the Jaco area for about three weeks, and I don't know anybody. I have heard that Playa Hermosa has pretty good surf. Are there any surfing activities for women on that beach?

Surfing in Playa Hermosa is great, and it’s very common to see girls surfing with guys everyday, however if you feel like you’re not ready or you just don’t want to then look for female instructors near the hotels and on the beach, they should be able to point you in the right direction and even ride a few waves with you. Girls-only events are pretty common in Jaco and Hermosa so try to schedule your trip accordingly…
