I have several friends that visit Costa Rica all the time and I have heard that the diving there is excellent. I am planning a short trip in a few weeks and wanted to know if anyone can tell me where the best diving sites are? Is it possible to find a guide to accompany me on a diving trip?
If you’re an experienced diver there are 2 areas you must visit, Ocotal Beach Resort offer the best diving trip to Catalina and Bat Island. Both of these dives are very demanding so you have to have lots of experience. The other diving site is Caño Island which is one of the best diving spots in the world; again this is an advanced dive tour. Caño Island can be accessed from Dominical or Drake Bay, I’d recommend you Drake Bay because is a one of a kind area and the guys at Aguila de Osa have all the diving gear you might need and excellent guides.
