Thanks to VacationCity, We just returned from a wonderful stay at Peace Lodge. We were in the Doris Room, a standard room, but one that has a waterfall just like the deluxe.

Very few gripes..the place was beautiful. But you must know that a cat who apparently belongs to the hotel enters rooms at night by opening the balcony screen door and sleeps on the furniture. It spent one night on our chaise lounge and let itself out at sunrise. On our last night it came into the room during the night and I awoke the next morning to find it sleeping peacefully between my legs on the bedspread. I am not kidding!

Most mornings we would see it at breakfast begging food. The staff said it has lived there for many years. We love cats, so this was not a real issue for us; but I can certainly see that some patrons spending $250 per night would not want a stray animal sleeping with them. We were there 3 nights and the cat spent two of them in our room with us. Just a heads up!

Other notes: Staff is very attentative. Grounds are beautiful. Take the hike and hire the guide for birdwatching. Food is pretty good, but not spectacular. There could be a bit more night life. Things tend to close down early. There were alot of kids there just before Easter, and that can put a damper on the romance if you let it. But a wonderful 3 days all in all!
