thanks for the info. did you find driving to be dangerous and nerve racking? also, was the construction a problem such as loud, blocking the views? was the construction at this resort?

Driving is a bit crazy in most of Costa Rica but out there you not really in the "Main stream" of driving so it really does not bother you. By construction I mean they are building houses, developments ect.. all around but at Ocotal there was nothing but great views & relaxing...Not trying to be overboard here but again I would suggest talking to VacationCity because they really helped us alot. The reason why I am saying that again is because when we left Ocotal Beach Resort we took aprivate shuttle back to San Jose because I did not want to drive on the main highways.

My wife suddenly remembered she left here wedding ring in the room (this is 1:30 minutes after we left). My wife started crying, the driver pulled off the road and radioed someone at VacationCity who had someone get the ring on a plane and it beat us back to San Jose. Truthfully I never thought she would see it agin but I believe in those guys and I know they are in contact with the whole country. Best of luck the beds calling me ha ha

Hey Carol, YES you definantly need a car to get around from the Ocotal Beach Resort. There are Taxis & people that the resort calls to come get you but the town of Playa del Coco is close by along with the beaches of Playa Hermosa & Playa Panama as well. There is alot of Construction or building going on in that area right now plus there are other beaches and areas close by to see. You could just take a Taxi but we talked to lots of people who spent big $$$ on them while we were there. VacationCity booked us a car with our trip so we never had to wait plus we checked out lots of places. Good luck & BTW...Ocotal is a GREAT place to stay! Aaron
