I wanted to commend Dave Dobbins, owner and Capt. of the charter boat Lamanta. We were in Quepos, CR from Feb. 2-8, 2007 and fished on the Lamanta on the 6th and 7th. We were anticipating fabulos fishing. But all the info weeks prior to our trip indidcated the fishing wasn't up to what was normal for this time of yr. Parties we talked to that week were getting only 1 or no sailfish. They said they had fished there for yrs. and had not seen the fishing that slow. Capt. Dave got us onto sailfish both days. Our party of 4 all got sailfish hookups and releases. All of the sails were large going in the neighborhood of 150 lbs. I also caught a 30 lb. red snapper. We had a geat time on the water. Capt. Dave and his mate have excellent knowledge of the waters and fish species in CR Capt Dave has excellent fishing gear on the Lamanta. They made our trip a very enjoyable time.
