Distance From The Airport
Me and my boyfriend will be traveling to Costa Rica next month; but our flight does not arrive until 8:30pm, so as we have to stay in San Jose the first night we want to stay at Grano de Oro Hotel, does any one know how long it takes to get to the hotel from the San Jose International Airport? Does the hotel offer a free shuttle?
The airport is actually located at Alajuela, not San Jose - it takes about 20 minutes to travel to the Grano de Oro (great hotel by the way). No they do not offer transportation but the folks at Vacationcity hooked us up with a airport transfer & the driver (Ruddy was his name) was waiting for us when we walked out of the airport. I personally prefer private tranfers because it costa about the same as a taxi but they are there waiting for you...only for you & are there to help with everything! Ruddy even took us by the bank to change money & made a quick stop at McDonalds.
