I can tell you a little bit more about El Establo Hotel, I stayed there during my honeymoon and it was one of my favorite spots during our trip. The climate conditions are really shelly and you do not need an air conditioned room. This hotel is the only one with swimming pool in Monteverde and it is heated due to the climate conditions. On a clear day you can see Papagayo Gulf from the rooms.

Hi there! I visited Costa Rica last June and stayed three nights at El Establo Mountain Hotel, which is one of the best hotels in that area. The rooms at this hotel do not have air conditioning, but it is because it is not necessary (instead of air conditioning you may want a fire place for those cool nights). Do not miss Monteverde if you visit Costa Rica, that cloud forest is one of the best I have ever seemed.
