From my experience.. the pacific is more developed. There are very popular towns like jaco and tamarindo. the caribbean is more remote. it also gets more rain and can be hotter and more humid. both are very beautiful- it just depends on if you like to be in a more secluded place or not.

hi! i've been to CR many times and love both coasts. i've also been investing in various areas of the country. i think if you are looking to flip a condo/home/etc. you need to buy something on the pacific coast. but if you are looking for great long term investment maybe the caribbean is where you should look. it is currently not as popular or as accessible as the pacific coast but i bet that in 5 to 10 years it will be. so as far as a long term investment i think the caribbean is a great option!

I am going to travel to C.R.soon but was wondering about the beach front near Limon. My friend took some pictures and thre was no sand only coral. Can you use the "beachfront for only building a house or bar etc? Or should I look further South for sandy beaches?
