Hi there! I visited Costa Rica last November and spent two nights at Tortuguero then three nice in Puerto Viejo area; the way I did it was: as Mawamba offers transportation back and forth from hotels in San Jose, I took the transportation back and rent a car which was deliver in the restaurant we had lunch when we was coming back to San Jose (I do not remember the name), and then I drove it in Puerto Viejo, also there is the possibility of taking a private transfer from the restaurant to Puerto Viejo.
