Can anyone tell me if Los Sueños Marriott at Herradura Beach in Costa Rica is a good option for family vacations?

Sure.. I have stayed there with my family twice and it is a wonderful hotel, the pool area is amazing and the best …it is just at 2 hours from the Int. Airport in San Jose so the driving time is not to tired for the children.
