The turtles arrive from July to November, usually at night, Playa Ostional constitutes one of the two most important nesting sites in the world for the Olive Ridley Turtles. Here, on 5 miles of sandy beach, the turtles prefer only a small area of 900 yards in which to lay their eggs.
