Is Playa Panama good for surfing, or how long does it take to get a surfing beach from Playa Panama?

I just came back form Costa Rica where spent four nights in Playa Panama area, which is not a surfing beach, there are two surfing beaches Tamarindo and Playa Grande at 2 hours away from Playa Panama.
