How many miles it is from Tamarindo to Monteverde, how many hours I am going to stay at the beach and then drive to the cloud forest?

It is 109 miles and takes 4 hours, you need a 4wheel drive car because the roads are not in good condition when you gets after the highway.

We did the exact same drive. It is not too far, but the roads up to Monteverde are horrendous. Very bumpy and slow going. You will be very glad to get to Monteverde once you are there. You could stay until mid afternoon then head up the hill. I would not want to drive these roads after dark. Very treacherous in some places and when the clouds come in it would be worse.
