Volcan Turrialba Distance From San Jose

I would like to know how long does it take driving from San Jose to Turrialba and if there are any fun pit stops on the way. We will be staying at the Volcan Turrialba Lodge only one night and would like to make the most of our time there.

Its been a long time since I was there but about 3 years ago it took me 2 and a half hours away from Down Town San Jose. I would suggest you to stop by the Irazu Volcano on the way, you will take a left turn in Cartago and follow the signs to the volcano. And if you have a 4X4 take the rough mountain road over to the Volcan Turrialba Lodge.
