I heard about a very popular festival in Liberia on July, Can someone explain what and when it’s the festival?

A popular event “Las Fiestas de Liberia”. This series of parties is held in late July, in celebration of the Annexation of Nicoya to the Costa Rican territory July 25. There are “topes” (processions of horses), music, dancing, carnival rides, and a lot of other fun activities.
