Location Of The Don Carlos Hotel

I read somewhere that the Don Carlos hotel is located in an old neighborhood. Does anyone know if the architecture of this neighborhood is nice enough to explore and take pictures?

I was there with a friend last month, and YES that is correct, the hotel is located in one of the oldest neiborhoods of San Jose, we caught many nice pictures of the architectural structures of the buildings around the hotel, plus the hotel very cosy. Their were great shops close enough to walk to as well.
