Looking for a house with character. This one sure has it. And what a great location, just a few miles from the quiet little town of Santa Maria del Dota. The house was originally built by a French couple from Normandy. You can see they kept the style. With a little less then an acre of land, you have a great garden and small forest of cypress trees. I like that people always greet you on the street, and they aren't in such a rush all the time. Nature surrounds Santa Maria. There are several national parks and forest reserves nearby. It's really a bird watchers paradise. Plus your only two hours from the beaches in Manuel Antonio, not to far to go for the day and return. I like to go to the farmers markets in the next town over of San Marcos on Saturdays. You can always get great fresh vegetables, cheeses and other products. The area is very agricultural, coffee being the main crop. But just up the road in Copey there are lots of apple, peach, plum and avocado orchards. Further up the road towards La Cima you can find lots of dairies and small farms that grow potatoes, lettuce, celery, cabbage, strawberries and many other cooler weather crops. If this is the lifestyle that you are looking for, don't miss coming for a visit, you most likely will stay.
