Found in the Nicoya Peninsula in the north of Guanacaste province, you can reach the beautiful Playa Junquillal either from Villareal or from Santa Cruz, Guanacaste. Playa Junquillal is situated 30 km west of Santa Cruz and 20 km south of Tamarindo. With a quiet and serene environment, Junquillal beach is a 1.5 mile strip of sand and surf that is unlike any other on the Costa Rican Gold Coast. Junquillal is a secluded beach that is ideal for a vacation escape, avoiding the noise and activity of other beaches. Playa Junquillal is close to the village of the same name, a quiet and bucolic hamlet, but near the beach, itís only you and the sand. Maybe youíll see people out on the water, but most possibly you wonít. This beach is private and secluded, for anyone looking for one on one contact with nature. You can get to Junquillal from the Liberia airport by driving south to Guardia, then Comunidad, Huacas and heading south from Tamarindo, or by driving all the way to Nicoya and then heading towards Samara and then to the North. The other travel option is to drive from San Jose through the La Amistad Bridge, then to Nosara and head North from there. Coming to this area on a rental car is recommended. There are many secluded beaches near Junquillal that you can easily visit that it would be a shame to miss them. However, if what you want is to stay in one place where youíll be able to rest peacefully, you can also arrive on our private shuttles or by plane into Tamarindo.
