There are two Playa Hermosa beaches in Costa Rica; one in Guanacaste and one in Puntarenas near Jaco beach The one situated in our Guanacaste province is a safe shore that boasts a gentle surf Mangrove swamps, verdant scenery, grey sands and dry tropical forests are all things you will see here. Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste is a very ecologically aware region with very high environmental standards that classify it as one of Costa Rica’s best maintained shorelines. Among the many nature highlights you will find amazingly great weather, rolling hills, bright sunshine, dry climate plus warm temperatures. This is a great family vacationing spot because it is rarely crowded, offering a very laid back atmosphere and safe swimming opportunities. The one located in Puntarenas features beach breaks that are strong and consistent, currents are also strong and therefore swimming is not advisable. The surf here is recommended for expert surfers. The waves can reach as tall as 13ft. Spend a day in the sun lounging about or even visit the Playa Hermosa Wildlife Refuge, an organization that protects Ridley sea turtles.
