Arenal La Fortuna Costa Rica Map
Click to enlargeThe town of La Fortuna is the near the Arenal Volcano in Guanacaste Costa Rica. This La Fortuna Map will give you an idea of where it is situated and the roads of this volcano town. To the West from La Fortuna lies the Arenal Volcano Crater. From the town you can see the back of the volcano. It is impossible to miss: if you stand in the central park of La Fortuna the volcano is directly over the church’s shoulder. However, to see the lava flowing at night, the best place to go is towards the hot springs and the national park. There are many hotels lined up along this section of the road offering direct volcano views. You can drive there and spend the evening observing the lava as it flows. When you look at the La Fortuna map, the volcano is west of the town and the hot springs are to the north of the volcano. To get to this area, drive towards the town of Arenal and the Arenal Lake. On the way you’ll see the Tabacon river hot springs, the entrance to the Arenal National Park and other lookout points. At Lake Arenal you can practice sportsfishing, sailing, kayaking and many other water sports. You can also go south from town and visit the La Fortuna Waterfalls or hike up the inactive Cerro Chato volcano and see the natural lagoon that has developed inside the crater.
