Villas Rio Mar Hotel & Resort is a wonderful destination surrounded by lush gardens and jungle forest. Spectacular scenery and great atmosphere will make you want to stay here forever. The resort sits 2,600 feet (800 meters) from the Pacific Ocean, in Dominical, Puntarenas; bordered on the north by the Baru River, on the east by 3,000 foot (900 meter) high mountains and to the south by tranquil and solitary beaches and coves. The accommodations at Villas Rio Mar Costa Rica are set in a secluded Polynesian-style village, featuring ten thatched roofed bungalows housing 52 rooms with a beautiful terrace-like living room and amazing views of the tropical surroundings. The Dominical Villa Rio Mar resort also offers a swimming pool with Jacuzzi, wet bar, restaurant and bar, spa, conference room, tennis court, and all the adventure you need for your vacation.
Dominical is a beautiful 2 ½ mile (4 km) beach with warm water that attracts whales and dolphins. Swimmers should be aware that strong rip tide currents are common, and lifeguards are on duty most of the time at the beach, watching for overconfident surfers and unaware swimmers. However, the beaches are ideal for tranquil strolls along the shore and the most incredible sunsets of the Pacific Coast. If you go farther south of Dominical, you will be able to find good breaks and a point for surf lovers.
Near Villas Rio Mar going south of Dominical, you can find Dominicalito which is a fishing village. The area is almost completely unpopulated. Near Dominical you can also visit the beautiful Nauyaca Waterfall. Enjoy the great roads going south from San Jose, the tranquility and the unpopulated stretches of sandy beach you’ll find in this southern and quite undiscovered natural paradise.
