Location and Driving Directions
Turtle Beach Lodge is located in Tortuguero in the north Caribbean zone of Costa Rica. The lodge is only 5 miles (8 km) north of the town of Tortuguero in Cano Palma. There is no road to Tortuguero. Instead you need to drive to Moin and from there a boat will take you to Tortuguero on an exciting trip that lasts about 3.5 hours. Getting to Moin is easy. You need to take the main road that goes to Limon (Highway 32) passing through the lush Braulio Carrillo National Park. The distance between San Jose and Limon is 105 miles (168 km). Before you get to Limon you will see an exit for Moin. This is where you will board the boat that will take you to Tortuguero through a beautiful system of canals. Flying to Tortuguero from San Jose is most recommended. You will arrive at the unpretentious airport in Tortuguero and from there a local guide will take you on a short boat ride to Turtle Beach Lodge.
