Location and Driving Directions
El Diria Hotel is located on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica on Tamarindo Beach , Guanacaste 168 miles (270 km) from San Jose and 44 (71 km) miles from Liberia . Tamarindo Beach is the most accessible beach town and a very popular tourist destination on the northern Pacific coast. The Hotel has an airstrip where daily scheduled flights arrive and depart from and to San Jose. Daily bus service and shuttles are available as well. For those renting a car and wanting to drive to Tamarindo they can now shorten their traveling time by one hour by choosing to take the route over the new Tempisque river bridge saving approximately one hour of travel time. The international airport at Liberia (one hour drive from Tamarindo) provides charter flights and scheduled international and domestic flights on a daily bases.
If you are coming from the Juan Santamaria International Airport, take the Inter American Highway northwest to Liberia. The trip is 135 miles and should take 3 - 4 hours, depending on the traffic. Arriving in Liberia you will come to a traffic light on the highway with 2 gas stations, a Burger King and a Papa John's on the corners. In Liberia , take road 21 southwest to Belen. Turn right in Belen and drive to Huacas which is about half an hour drive. From there you will make a left and follow the signs to Tamarindo, about 35 minutes.
