Location and Driving Directions
Upon leaving the airport head towards San Jose via the Panamerican HWY # 2 in a southward direction. You will pass a toll booth and an exit marked Tres Rios, keep driving up the incline. Once you begin a descent stay on the road that turns right and then drive straight. You should see an exit sign on your left hand side that leads to downtown Cartago, do not take this exit. Keep driving straight towards San Isidro del General. You will see a sign that says "S. Isidro Gral", (this is the short term for that town name). Drive through el Tejar and el Empalme. From here continue on to the highest point of this highway known as "Cerro de la Muerte". Here you need to detour to the right for about 5.5 miles on a country road until you reach the slopes of our Savegre River.
