Day Activities
Maribu Caribe Hotel is set right on Portrete Beach which has very fast left surf that breaks over a reef in shallow water, making it a good place for surfing. You can also take a walk down the beach or visit Uvita Island which is ½ a mile (1 km) offshore. While you are on the premises of the hotel, you may delight yourself swimming in the pool, or just sitting by it catching the morning sunshine.
While staying at Maribu Caribe, you can visit many attractions around the area. You can visit the Gandoca Manzanillo National Refuge which is very important because it protects wild fauna, especially endangered species. You may also take a boat trip on the Tortuguero Jungle Canals where you will be able to admire the beauty of nature, watching crocodiles, monkeys, sloth, caiman, and colorful exotic birds. Other activities you can enjoy are hiking, snorkeling, and horseback riding.
