Guachipelin Hacienda Lodge is a century old working ranch located in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. In 1975 the land was acquired by its current owner who is a cattle and horse breeder. His family got involved in this project and today Guachipelin Hacienda has 1,700 acres (700 hectares) destined for the conservation of the tropical dry forest; 1,400 acres (550 hectares) are used as pastureland and 800 acres (325 hectares) are being reforested with species in danger of extinction, in addition to having a lodge area for guests and visitors.

The rooms at Guachipelin Hacienda, Rincon de la Vieja are simple in style and they have comfortable front terraces for evening chats. The restaurant and the reception area are in a 100 year old building which used to be part of the original Guachipelin Hacienda. Lodge. Guachipelin Hacienda is located at the foot of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano in Guanacaste, just a few miles northeast of Liberia. The property borders Rincon de la Vieja National Park and you will find within the hacienda thermal springs and steaming mud pots.
