This restaurant serves international cuisine in a casual setting. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served buffet style or you have the choice of a la carte meals. The setting is very tropical and decorated with images of toucans by the buffet table. The restaurant also decorated with paintings from the father of the Fonda Vela’s owner Paul Smith.
Artist Paul Smith has painted most of the paintings in the Fonda Vela. His work over the last year can be found in the restaurant and reception areas. Mr. Smith’s artistic endeavors have taken him to the extremities of the Western Hemisphere, including Argentina, Chile and Canada. This artist’s earlier work, over 300 paintings, can be found hanging in the 40 bedrooms of the hotel, representing samples of his work over the last twenty years. The collection of paintings is a patrimony to his families’ hotel and a story of his life.

Restaurant La Chimenea is open for dinner exclusively and it offers a very pleasant atmosphere that will relax you after a full day of adventure. The restaurant features fireplaces due to the restaurant’s name “Chimenea” which in English is Chimney. The menu consists of gourmet dishes and you can accommodate yourself indoor or outdoors. The walls are covered with large windows to the patio and you can get amazing views from the inside of the restaurant, as well as from the outside.
