Location and Driving Directions

Flamingo Marina Resort is located on the Pacific Coast at Playa Flamingo in the province of Guanacaste. The resort is approximately 4 to 5 hours north of San Jose on a perfectly paved road. Air service is available to Flamingo by domestic airlines landing at Liberia International Airport, 50 minutes away from the resort, or they can land at the Tamarindo airstrip, just 20 minutes away. If you are driving from the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose, take 3 hour trip on the Inter American Highway to Liberia. After you get there, you will take Highway 21 to Santa Cruz and turn right in Belen. After a 30 minute drive you will see signs to Flamingo Marina Resort. Getting to the town will take you approximately 35 minutes. You can also take the route via the new Tempisque Bridge. Take the Inter American Highway to Palmares, San Ramon, Esparze, towards Puntarenas. You pass the exit to Puntarenas and continue until you see the sign to Tempisque. (You will see a Shell Gas Station on your left). Here turn right and drive towards Nicoya. You will cross the new Tempisque Bridge and continue driving following the signs to Nicoya. Once in downtown Nicoya, find the sign to Flamingo Marina Resort. As you drive along this road you will see signs that will direct you to resort.
