Getting to Flamingo is quite straightforward. From the Liberia International airport drive south to Guardia, then Comunidad and continue to the hamlet of Huacas. From there turn north and drive towards Playa Flamingo. Map your routes and you’ll be able to visit many different beaches that are just a short distance away. surf at Tamarindo, watch turtles in Playa Grande and go party at Playa del Coco or the town of Tamarindo for evening fun. The roads in this area are a bit rough, so a four wheel drive is highly recommended. Driving to Flamingo from San Jose takes about 5 hours, and it is just a short 1.5 hours from the Liberia airport You can make day excursions in your car to the Santa Rosa National Park, visit the Rincon de la Vieja volcano National Park or Las Baulas marine park. Visit the white city of Liberia, with its colonial whitewashed adobe houses and traditional architecture. If you decide to drive from San Jose you can cross the La Amistad Bridge and pass through the town of Santa Cruz. The closest beaches to Falmingo are Playa Brasilito, Playa Potrero, Playa Penca and Playa Pan de Azucar. To the south, Playa Conchal, Tamarindo beach and Langosta Beachfarther are on the Flamingo Map.
