La Prensa Libre Costa Rica is a leftist tendency newspaper that comes out daily. This newspaper is part of the Extra group, which also have the Diario Extra. It contains sections such as Economy, National, opinion, Sports, Police events, classifieds and a popular cartoon page called Purruja, which satirizes the political events in Costa Rica. La Prensa Libre de Costa Rica also has among its services an archive page you can search for past events. It is unlikely you’ll be able to find La Prensa on the Costa Rica streets with the same ease as you’ll find other main newspapers, but any newspaper stand should be stocked.
