New companies have to publish their conformation in La Gaceta before being recognized as a company, association or cooperative, and any raises in tariffs set by the state such as transportation or gas prices will be published before coming into effect. Costa Rica Gaceta newspaper isn’t exactly relaxed Sunday afternoon reading material, but knowing about its existence will save you plenty of headaches when you need to get things done in Costa Rica.
