The Banco Nacional de Costa Rica was founded on October 9th, 1914 under the name of Banco Internacional de Costa Rica focusing in the agriculture and rural regions of the country. On November 5th, 1936 their name was changed to Banco Nacional de Costa Rica and, since then they have shown a transcendent and positive projection to economic, social and financial life of Costa Rica.
