Dominical is a beautiful 2 ½ mile (4 km) beach with warm water that attracts whales and dolphins. Swimmers should be aware that strong rip tide currents are common, and lifeguards are on duty most of the time at the beach, watching for overconfident surfers and unaware swimmers. However, the beaches are ideal for tranquil strolls along the shore and the most incredible sunsets of the Pacific Coast. If you go farther south of Dominical, you will be able to find good breaks and a point for surf lovers.

Near Villas Rio Mar going south of Dominical, you can find Dominicalito which is a fishing village. The area is almost completely unpopulated. Near Dominical you can also visit the beautiful Nauyaca Waterfall.
