Location and Driving Directions

The Peace Lodge is located on the grounds of La Paz Waterfall Gardens in Vara Blanca de Heredia, in the Central Valley of Costa Rica. The lodge is 20 minutes from La Paz River Valley and the Poas Volcano, and around 16 miles (26 km) from San Jose.

To drive from the Juan Santamaria International Airport and San Jose through Alajuela, take the Inter American Highway toward the international airport taking the Alajuela exit. Continue straight on this road for 12 miles (19 km) following the signs for Poas Volcano. At the three way intersection make a right. Proceed for 1 mile (1.5 km) to the town of Poasito and make another right at the intersection where it says Heredia – Vara Blanca – Sarapiqui. Make a left at the gas station at Vara Blanca and proceed for 3 miles (4.5 km). Waterfall Gardens is on the left. The approximate driving time to get to the lodge is 1 hour.
