Location and Driving Directions

Pacuare Lodge offers transfers to their establishment, they will pick you up at your San Jose hotel on a bus and drive through Cartago heading towards Turrialba, you will get off the bus at Santa Marta. Next you ride in a car up to the banks of Pacuare river. Here you can choose one of two ways to reach the lodge:

Cross the river in a cable car and hike the remaining 330 yards to the lodge.

Or

Get in a raft and ride the class III and IV rapids up to the entrance of the lodge and climb the steps.

If you are interested in reaching Turrialba from the airport you take the freeway in Alajuela to downtown San Jose. Travel on the highway in front of the National Theater straight shot to Cartago, pass through Paraiso Cartago and follow the road signs to Turrialba. The scenery is fantastic no matter which route of transportation you choose.
