Location and Driving Directions

Makanda by the Sea Hotel is located in Manuel Anotnio, Quepos on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Quepos is less than 100 miles (160 km) from San Jose. It takes around 3 to 4 hours to get there by car.

If you are driving from Juan Santamaria international Airport or San Jose, take the Inter American highway going towards San Isidro del General. Once in San Isidro turn southwest on 22, which becomes 243 to Dominical. In Dominical turn northwest on 34 for about 24 miles (38 km) to turn left (south) to Quepos. Turn left on the outskirts of Quepos (signed) and head up over the hills. Soon you will be able to notice the signs to the hotel.

The hotel is located just at 0.62 miles (1 km) from the main road, halfway between Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park. Turn right after the Barba Roja Restaurant.
