Location and Driving Directions

There are two routes you can take to reach La Fortuna de San Carlos:
Upon leaving the San Jose airport take the Pan American HWY and drive towards the town of Grecia. When you spot the sign that leads to this town, take a right and head to downtown Grecia. Look for a red church on your left hand side and drive around to the back of the building. Follow road signs to Sarchi, continue on through Naranjo, then Zarcero, Ciudad Quesada, Tanque and finally you will reach La Fortuna.

When you get on the Pan American HWY take the exit to San Ramon and drive into town. Keep an eye out for a road sign leading to San Lorenzo and La Tigra. Continue on through Chaguagua until you arrive in La Fortuna. With either route upon reaching the center of La Fortuna, you will see a Catholic church from which you will drive approximately 2 miles northeast towards the volcanic peak where you will find Magic Mountain Hotel.
