Los Suenos Marriott Golf Course
This 18 hole, par 72 golf course was designed by Ted Robinson, a renowned golf course architect. The majestic natural beauty that surrounds the course provides the perfect setting for an exciting and challenging game. At Los Suenos Marriott you can rent or buy the necessary equipment as well as private instruction.
At the beautiful Los Suenos Marriott golf course you will find it difficult to reach the green in two from the tips on any of the Par 5 holes, although two shots to the green is possible on these Par 5 holes from the regular tees. The difficulty here is not the distance but the layout of the doglegs and how the tees are positioned. Here you will find that the Par 3 holes range form 172 to 190 yards and wind offers the greatest challenge on these shorter holes.
Here you will seldom if ever hit a shot with the wind at your back, more than likely you will be shooting into the wind or having to allow for a crosswind.
The beautiful yellow flowers that cover much of the rough at Los Suenos consist of Mani (peanut plants). While this carpet of peanut plants is an eye appealing ground cover, it also provides a loosely packed 4 inch carpet to lose your ball in. If you do manage to find your ball you can play out of the rough.
This inspiring course is definitely worth more than one round. Los Suenos has a unique system that is an advantage to all golfers. The hotel has what you might call a forecaddie who accompanies each group of golfers. As you may understand the forecaddie's job is not to carry golfer’s clubs but is to keep the group moving by keeping track of all balls in play and letting each player in the group know where his or her ball is.
For example, one player in the group hits his ball into the peanut rough. The forecaddie will hurry ahead to search for the ball, and point it out to the player so that play continues without delay. If the forecaddie ever becomes involved more directly in the action (say, is struck by a ball), he is considered under the rules an 'outside agency.
At Los Suenos you might want to add the term guide to the forecaddie definition. There is much more to this course than just the lay of the green. There is no established charge for the service and compensation for their services is up to each individual. If they have enhanced your golfing experience on this tropical course, pay them accordingly.
