This is a wildlife refuge which allows you to indulge in the beauty of the panoramic view and waterfalls smoothly blended with nearby coffee and banana plantations as you walk along its trails. Yet, the wonders of this place lie in the uniqueness of over 170 bird species living in their natural environment. Around the area you can enjoy of some activities like visiting the Jewels of the Rainforest Bio-Art Museum which has the third largest insect collection in the world. You can also visit the Selvatura Park passing through the Treetop Walkways where you will learn about the history of Monteverde. If you like horseback riding, you can take a trip to the San Luis Waterfall.
