Location and Driving Directions

If you drive from San Jose to Nosara you will take the Inter American Highway North from Juan Santamaria International Airport. After about 3 hours on this highway you will see a sign for Puente (Bridge) La Amistad. Make a left hand turn to La Amistad Bridge. You will drive about 30 minutes on this road. After you cross the bridge the main road will end at the intersection with Highway 21. Here you need to turn right towards Nicoya. Drive straight through the town of Nicoya once you get here. This will put you on the main road to Samara and Nosara. After 30 minutes of driving you will come to a Castrol Gas Station. Make a right turn onto an unpaved road. Remain on this road until the road comes to an intersection. Follow the signs to the right and to Garza and Nosara. After passing the beach village of Garza, you will have about 10-15 minutes remaining until you see the signs for Harbor Reef Lodge, Casa Tucan, and Hotel Villa Taype. Make a left turn left here and proceed toward the beach. The road will turn left and Harbor Reef Lodge will be on the left side about 150 yards from the turn.
