Guachipelin Hacienda Lodge is a century old working ranch located in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. In 1975 the land was acquired by its current owner who is a cattle and horse breeder. His family got involved in this project and today Guachipelin Hacienda has 1,700 acres (700 hectares) destined for the conservation of the tropical dry forest; 1,400 acres (550 hectares) are used as pastureland and 800 acres (325 hectares) are being reforested with species in danger of extinction, in addition to having a lodge area for guests and visitors.
