Location and Driving Directions

The Gran Hotel Costa Rica is located in San Jose the capital city of Costa Rica in the Plaza de la Cultura. The hotel is at Calle 3 between Avenida Central and Avenida Segunda, beside the National Theatre. By car, you will be entering San Jose via the Interamerican Highway. If you arrive from Nicaragua and the north, you will find that the highway brings you first past the airport and the city of Alajuela, to the western edge of the downtown, right at the end of Paseo Colon, where it hits the Parque Sabana. This area is well marked with large road signs, which will either direct you to the downtown (Centro) or the western suburbs of Rhomerser, Pavas, and Escazu. If you're heading toward downtown, just follow the flow of traffic and turn left on Paseo Colon. After the San Juan de Dios hospital, turn right and then left, and continue on the Avenida Segunda until you reach the hotel which will be on your left.
