Location and Driving Directions

The Four Seasons Resort is located in Guanacaste in the northwest section of Costa Rica. The resort is set on the tip of the Gulf of Papagayo, 37 miles (60 km) from Daniel Oduber International Airport, and 127 miles (204 km) from San Jose.

Driving from Juan Santamaria International Airport is going to be approximately a 5 hour drive. Take the Inter American Highway towards Liberia passing San Ramon, Esparza and Canas. When you get to Liberia drive until you see the Burger King and make a left at that intersection and continue driving passing the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From there, drive approximately 5 miles (8 km) on Highway 21 West, and make a right at the Do It Centre. Continue on this road towards the resort for approximately 16 miles. The Four Seasons Resort is at the end of the road after entering the Gulf of Papagayo. It takes around 4 1/2 to 5 hours to get to the resort.

If you are driving from Liberia, exit the airport and drive about 1 1/2 miles (2.5 km) to the main road, and there turn right. Drive approximately 5 miles (8 km) on Highway 21 West, turning right at the Do It Centre. Continue on this road towards the resort for approximately 16 miles (26 km). The Four Seasons Resort is at the end of the road after entering the Gulf of Papagayo. It takes only 45 minutes to drive to the resort from here.

You can chose to fly from the Santamaria International Airport in San Jose on a scheduled domestic flight to Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia. In Liberia we can arrange for a rental car to be at the airport to meet you. Driving from Liberia, exit the airport and drive about 1 1/2 miles (2.5 km) to the main road, and there turn right. Drive approximately 5 miles (8 km) on Highway 21 West, turning right at the Do It Centre. Continue this road towards the resort for approximately 16 miles (26 km).
