Location and Driving Directions

Upon leaving the Juan Santamaria Airport take the Panamerican HWY heading south. You will pass a toll booth and an exit marked “Tres Rios”, do not take the exit, keep driving up the hill, where you head into an area full of hills and cloud forests. You will reach a pass known as Cerro de la Muerte, upon emerging from this pass you will drive through the towns of San Isidro and Palmar Norte until you get to the town of Rio Claro, here you turn off in the direction of Golfito. Upon reaching golfito drive along the dirt road that goes to La Gamba, follow the signs that direct you to the lodge. Four wheel drive is not required. You could also choose to fly into Golfito, via domestic flight.
