Location and Driving Directions
The Turrialba Valley lies 40 miles (65 km) east of San Jose, the nation's capital. Irrigated by the Reventazon River, the valley has been an agricultural center for over a century. This region, with evenly distributed rains during the year, comprises a green mosaic of primary mountain-forests, biological reserves, natural and man-made forests, and coffee plantations. A delicate balance has been maintained between agricultural development and ecological preservation. The scenic beauty, diverse flora & fauna, along with the development of white-water rafting and kayaking make Turrialba a favorite spot for adventure tourism and scientific exploration. By airplane it is only 15 minutes from the local Pavas airport. A single engine plane may be chartered to arrive at the hotels own landing strip, which is 4 minutes away from the hotel.
If you are driving from San Jose, take the Inter American Highway towards Cartago. Once in Cartago follow the sign to Paraiso, only a few miles east of Cartago. From Paraiso follow the signs to Juan Vinas, follow the winding rode through green mountains and impressive valleys of the areas. In Juan Vinas you will see the sign for Turrialba, only 10 miles east of this picturesque town. The city of Turrialba is a bustling town with plenty of restaurants and shops. To get to casa Turire follow the road to Siquirres through the green slopes of the Turrialba Volcano. Casa Turire is only a 15 minute drive from the town of Turrialba.
