Location and Driving Directions

Hotel Cariblue is located in Playa Cocles, on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica. This beautiful shore is situated near Puerto Viejo, Limon. The hotel is right on Cocles Beach. Puerto Viejo is 124 miles (199 km) from San Jose and 34 miles (54 km) south of Limon.

If you are driving to Puerto Viejo from San Jose take the Guapiles Highway that heads out of San Jose on Calle (Street) 3 turning east. Follow the signs to Limon. You will first pass through Braulio Carrillo National Park cloud forest. At Limon follow the signs to Sixaola then approximately 33 miles (53 km) further you will reach Puerto Viejo. Cariblue is located about a mile past Puerto Viejo in Playa Cocles.

You can take a bus to Puerto Viejo that leaves San Jose daily from the Caribbean bus terminal. It takes from 4 ½ to 5 hours to get there. Upon your arrival to Puerto Viejo, you can take a taxi to Playa Cocles. Some of those buses make a turnoff for Sixaola, so make sure to always ask if the bus you are taking goes directly to Puerto Viejo. There is also the Gray Line bus company that has a daily bus leaving from San Jose to Puerto Viejo at 7:00 am and another one at 9:30 am.
