Location and Driving Directions

Hotel Capitan Suizo is located on Tamarindo Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa Rican Pacific Coast. Tamarindo is 200 miles (321 km) from San Jose, 45 miles (72 km) from the International Airport in Liberia, and 2 miles (3.2 km) from the local airport in Tamarindo.

If you are flying to Playa Tamarindo, you can board a domestic airplane at the Juan Santamaria International Airport. You will land at the Tamarindo airstrip which is located 2 miles (3.3 km) from the hotel. There will be a taxi at the airport can take you to the hotel. You can also fly directly your closest international airport to the Tobias International Airport in Liberia and drive from there or take a taxi to Tamarindo. The international airport in Liberia is 45 miles (28 km) from the hotel.

If you are planning on taking the bus from San Jose to Tamarindo, buses depart daily from Calle(Street) 14 and Avenidas(Avenue) 3, 4 and 5. You can catch a bus offered by Alfaro Transportation at 3:30 pm. You can also catch a bus at Calle 20 and Avenida 3 with Tralapa Trasnportation at 5:45 am. It is best to buy the tickets in advance, especially on weekends or holidays.

If you are driving from San Jose, take the Inter American Highway, following the signs to Liberia. You will drive approximately 135 miles (217 km) and it will take you from 3 to 4 hours to get there depending on traffic. Take a left at the main stop in Liberia and head west along the main road to the beaches. Follow the signs to Playa Flamingo and Playa Tamarindo, and stay to the left. After 12 miles (19 km) watch for the big green, blue and white signs that say Tamarindo and Hotel Capitan Suizo, this will take straight to the hotel.
