Location and Driving Directions

Barcelo Playa Tambor is located in the western area of our country, on magnificent Tambor beach on the Nicoya peninsula in the province of Puntarenas. This resort is surrounded by lush vegetation and various natural parks. To get here from Juan Santa Maria International Airport, San Jose take the road to Puntarenas. In Puntarenas you need to take the ferry to Paquera. Once you get off the ferry look for the Hotel Barcelo Playa Tambor Sign, from the ferry dock to the hotel is about 25 miles (40 km). If driving from the Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, take the road to Liberia and then once there take the Inter American Highway to Puntarenas. From there take the ferry to Paquera, drive 25 miles (40 km) following the road and the signs to the hotel.
